Dear Colleagues and Friends

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 6th European ALS Congress, Research Workshop and Young Investigators Meeting, which will be held at the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM), Lisbon, Portugal, on 20th-22nd June 2008. We are proud to host this meeting.

With the inspiration we received from the accumulated experience of previous European Meetings, it will be our aim to bring the clinical and basic science researchers of the motor neuron disease field together in an exciting interaction. The key issue will be to call for the active participation of a significant number of young investigators. For this purpose, the cost of the registration fee was kept low as happened at the last meeting.

The location of this meeting, close to the heart of the city, will permit the contact with this old capital. Lisbon sits at the point where the River Tagus feeds into the Atlantic sea. It is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of History which was conquered from the Moors in 1147.
